Switch Mobility, the electric vehicle arm of Dheeraj Hinduja-led, Ashok Leyland has signed an MoU with Celcius Logistics for 350 EV Reefer Trucks Powering India’s Largest Electric Cold Chain Fleet. This initiative is backed by an investment of ₹100 crore which will support the purchase of vehicles and development of essential infrastructure including parking bays, charging stations, and driver training programs. It is not only a partnership on the scale of deploying vehicles, but it is the creation of the first large scale zero-emission cold logistics ecosystem in the country. 100 trucks are already deployed by Celsius and the remaining 250 units will be rolled out by the end of FY26.
This partnership also led to the launch of “Celcius Green”. It is a dedicated vertical which is launched with initial investment of ₹50 crore. Under Celcius Green they are building India’s first zero-emission cold logistics network leveraging electric mobility and advanced data-driven systems.
Celsius’ 3.5-ton electric reefer trucks are engineered by Switch Mobility that ensures consistent temperature control from –25°C to +25°C for transporting sensitive goods including dairy, pharmaceuticals, fresh produce, seafood, and frozen foods. These vehicles are designed for both urban and peri-urban deliveries as they are equipped with extended 140 km range and EV-ready infrastructure.
This partnership between Switch and Celsius is being noted as a key milestone in advancing electric mobility within the cold chain segment one of the most demanding areas of logistics. Together they will be setting a new benchmark for sustainable, reliable, and cost-efficient temperature-controlled transport in India.
